Deciding Who to Team Up With

When choosing someone that you want to partner up with to create the next big thing, you need to be careful and cautious.
Through research I broke down a list of tips to follow when choosing who you start creating a business, side-hustle or side project with. Here it is.
Shared Values and Goals
Complementary Skills and Expertise
Communication
Trust and Reliability
Work with someone better than you.
Here’s an example of someone who mastered these principles. ⬇️

The King of Sports Apparel

Teamwork is COMPLETELY USELESS…
I know. I get it.
We literally just came off a letter 2 days ago talking about how you should network.
And how you should “Get wealthy with your friends” and “build a business with your peers.”
But Im here to tell you all of that “networking” is COMPLETELY USELESS…
IF
You don’t network with the RIGHT PEOPLE,
And Phil Knight understood this.
Instead of me telling you what he said, I’ll let you hear it from Phil Himself. (2:16-8:00)
Now you might be asking, “Who is Phil Knight anyway?”
Just take a look at your shoes for a sec.
You see that big “swoosh” on those shoes?
Yeah… That was his idea.
In fact, he co founded Nike as a whole and is now worth a whopping $42.72B USD!
As cool as that is, Phil Knight wasn’t always this successful,
In fact, the guy was dirt poor, selling japanese shoes out of the trunk of his car.
So how’d he go from selling out of his car, to building a 43B dollar empire?
Well it’s simple really.
Networking…. with Bill Bowerman….. His track coach.
I know right, crazy, but it’s true. But what made his track coach someone worth working with?
You see, his track coach had ties to just about every single shoe store in Portland (Phil's hometown).
And when Bowerman heard of Phil’s idea, Bowerman’s access became Phil’s access, and fast forward to today,
Nike is selling 25 pairs of sneakers every single SECOND.
Now, had Phil teamed up with his “friends” or random people,
without doing the proper research on who would be good to work with,
We probably wouldn’t be an air force 1 to wear, heck nike wouldn’t even exist!
I want you to remember this story when you’re networking with people,
Don’t just partner up in the hype of things, make sure they are good business partners,
Because if not,
Your business will inevitably fail.
